Germany: ZEW Institute index declines by 5.2 points in May

Economic Sentiment stands at minus 2.1 points

14 May, 12:07
(ANSA) - BELGRADE, 14 MAG - The ZEW Indicator of Economic Sentiment for Germany recorded a decrease of 5.2 points in May and currently stands at minus 2.1 points, the German ZEW research institute said today.

"The decline in the ZEW Indicator of Economic Sentiment shows that the financial market experts continue to expect restrained economic growth in Germany for the next six months," said ZEW President Achim Wambach. According to Wambach, "the most recent escalation in the trade dispute between the USA and China again increases the uncertainty regarding German exports - a key factor for the growth of the gross domestic product."
