(ANSA) - SARAJEVO - According to Bosnian security minister Dragan Mektic, who expressed his concern about the situation on the Balkan route, about 70,000 migrants in Greece are ready to travel to EU countries. According to the minister, there is a daily influx of about 300 migrants from Turkey to Greece: an alarming situation - he said - that exposes Bosnia and Herzegovina to serious problems. In the first two months of 2019, in the Bihac and Sarajevo areas, the Bosnian authorities have identified and placed under surveillance 6 migrants originating in Afghanistan, five of which are suspected of having ties to international terrorism and the sixth one suspected of migrant trafficking and organized crime, the Fena news agency reported. Four suspects, aged between 23 and 34, represent a threat to the security of the country, whereas the identity of the other two suspects is still under investigation, in collaboration with international security agencies and countries of origin.

Meanwhile, the Slovenian police have stopped about twenty migrants trying to enter the country illegally from neighboring Croatia in the last few days. According to local media, most of the migrants - Afghans, Pakistanis, Iranians - were hidden in trucks heading for the EU countries in Western Europe. Observers underlined an intensification of land migrants flows along the Balkan route, taking into account that weather conditions have improved and temperatures are rising. (ANSA).
