(ANSA) - PRAGUE, FEB 19 - The Czech Republic, which is one of
Europe's top tourist attraction, aims to become a renowned
scientific hub at European level. That is what is envisaged by
the new innovation strategy presented yesterday in Prague by
premier Andrej Babis, including an increase in funds for
technical-scientific development, support for startups and the
increase of 'intelligent' infrastructure.
According to Radio.cz website, in the next decade, the
country intends to position itself at the top of the ranking of
the EU countries in the field of research and technological
development. In order to achieve this goal, the government in
Prague aims to create the ideal conditions for the development
of science and digitalization, with an increase in available
resources.
As for the 2019 budget, the website reported, almost 1.4m
euros were allocated to scientific and technological development
programs, equal to 1.79% of GDP. In 2025, the resources for
science should rise to 2.5% of GDP and reach 3% by 2030. (ANSA).
