(ANSA) - BELGRADE - In 2018, trade between Italy and Serbia
exceeded, for the first time, the 4bn euro threshold, according
to consolidated data on foreign trade published on Thursday by
the statistical office of Serbia(RZS), that recorded a trade
between Rome and Belgrade which is worth 4.03bn euros (2018).
Italy - our Embassy underlined in a press release - was
confirmed to be the first destination country for Serbian goods
and Belgrade's second biggest trade partner. In 2018 Italian
exports to Serbia recorded an increase by 4.7%, and therefore
Italy's market share of Serbia's foreign trade is 10.4%.
Serbian exports to Italy remained essentially stable compared
to last year. Italys' ambassador Carlo Lo Cascio, commenting on
the result, added that: ''in accordance with the forecasts, the
final figures have confirmed that trade between Italy and Serbia
is growing and that there will be opportunities for us to
further strengthen our trade. These data make the solidity of
the economic partnership between the two countries tangible''.
