(ANSA) - BELGRADE, JAN 30 - The German-Kosovar consortium SOWI is planning to construct a 105-MW wind farm with 30 turbines in three locations in the municipality of Mitrovica, in Kosovo, the Kosovar government announced.

The total investment in the project is 169 million euros, "the biggest direct investment in the area," Pristina said on Monday.

The project is currently being reviewed by the authorities, the government said in a press release, adding that the company was declared of strategic interest for the country under a new law on investments. "This is history, our beginning with the first strategic investor" in Kosovo, prime minister Ramush Haradinaj said.

According to the official website of SOWI Kosovo, the company "is a full-service provider whose expertise lies in the design, construction, financing and operating renewable energy facilities." (ANSA).
