(ANSA) - BELGRADE, JAN 24 - A 15-metre-wide interactive LCD display, thought to be the largest in the world according to local media, was put in operation at the Museum of Fine Arts in Budapest. The huge interactive touchscreen allows visitors to see pieces from the museum's collections that are otherwise difficult to view and appreciate. Approximately 300 sculptures, paintings and other artworks are accessible through the LCD screen and up to 40 visitors can simultaneously use the device. The large interactive screen was funded by the Hungarian National Bank with approximately 470,000 euros. The Museum of Fine Arts was reopened last October after a three-years long renovation, costed more than 4.7 million euros.

Since then, more than 100,000 people visited the museum, said Laszlo Baan, the Museum of Fine Arts general director, quoted on local media. The museum includes one of the largest library in the country on history of art, a waste Hungarian art collections, thousands of prints, drawings, sculptures, old masters paintings, a collection of classical and Egyptian antiquities and it is considered one of the most important art institutions in the country. The museum was established in 1906. (ANSA).
