Hungary: unemployment decreases to 3.6% in Sep-Nov 2018

44,000 more at work than one year earlier

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, 02 GEN - The unemployment rate in Hungary decreased by 0.2 percentage points year-on-year to 3.6% in the period September-November 2018, the Hungarian Central Statistical Office (KSH) said today.

In the period, the average number of unemployed people was 169,000, 9,000 less than a year earlier, KSH added. The unemployment rate of the "persons belonging to the 'best working age'", in the age group 25-54, was 3.2%. In a separate statement, the KSH said that the average number of employed people was 4,494,000 in the period September-November 2018, 44,000 more than a year earlier. The employment rate of people aged 15-64 increased to 69.7% from 55.2 in March 2012.
