(ANSA) - BRUSSELS - "Becoming a member of the European Union
is not a medical prescription, it is a choice", and it is up to
Serbia and Kosovo "to decide" whether to engage for "real" and
"in an honest manner" in the dialogue, "or to continue this
game" against each other, which can become "very dangerous", EU
High Representative Federica Mogherini said at the end of the
EU-Serbia Stabilization and Association Council, referring to
the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina facilitated by the
EU, currently faces many difficulties.
"Both sides say to choose the European perspective", but it
is up to them "to reach a legally binding agreement" and "solve
bilateral difficulties once and for all", Mogherini pointed out.
The EU is facilitating the dialogue and "can say what can help
and what cannot help" the two countries, but both "will have to
do more", EU High Representative added. According to Mogherini,
"the alternative to a serious and meaningful dialogue is very
dangerous. This is why I still believe in a good result" in
diplomatic negotiations "because I do not want to think about
the alternative".(ANSA).
