Romania: more African swine fever cases reported

725 outbreaks confirmed in 10 counties

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, 24 AGO - The number of confirmed outbreaks of the African swine fever in Romania has reached 725, with 10 countries and 156 localities affected, according to data from the Romanian national veterinary authority (ANSVSA), quoted by the portal Romania Insider.

The number of animals culled has reached 117,700, with the federation of food industries companies asking the authorities to discuss new measures to fight the disease "as the outbreak could destroy the pig farming sector in Romania," Romania Insider wrote. (ANSA).
