Germany: budget surplus hits record high, 2.9%

(ANSA) - BERLIN, AUG 24 - In the first half of 2018, Germany's budget surplus hit a record high: the Bund, the Laender, the municipalities and the social funds recorded a surplus of 48.1bn euros, equal to 2.9% of GDP, according to Federal Statistics Office, which reported a that the surplus (in the first 6 months) has never been so high since the country's reunification.(ANSA).
