Romanians living abroad protesting against the government

(ANSA) - BUCHAREST, 11 AGO - Second day of protest of expatriates against the leftist government, held in front of the government headquarters, in Bucharest, Romania, 11 August 2018.

Up to two thousand expatriates gathered to demand government resignation and anticipate elections in Romania's capital. The previous evening up to 50,000 people protested against corruption, hundreds participants were injured while several riot- policemen were hurt. Romania's President Klaus Iohannis pointed that the police reaction was 'disproportionate', as most of the protesters did not act violently. The manifestation is held in central Victoriei square, no clashes by the moment. Manifestations also in Cluj, Sibiu and Iasi. (ANSA).
