(ANSA) - SOFIA, AUGUST 8 - Eighty-one kilometres of the 133-km wire fence along the land border with Romania have been built as prevention against the possible spreading of African swine fever by wild boars from Romania crossing over to Bulgaria, the Agriculture, Food and Forestry Ministry announced.

Yesterday, the Romanian authorities announced the presence of more than 500 cases of African swine fever, mostly in the Danube Delta. According to Bta press agency, the stretches of the border where the fence is yet to be built are being patrolled round-the-clock. (ANSA).
