Serbia: average net salaries increasing in May to 426 euros

President Vucic said, 470 euros by year’s end

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, 25 LUG - Average net salaries and wages in Serbia amounted to 426 euro in May 2018, the Serbian statistical office (RZS) said in a statement today.

According to RZS data, average net salaries and wages increased by 6.9% in nominal terms and by 4.7% in real terms in May 2018, compared to the same month of 2017. Net salaries and wages increased by 6.0% in nominal terms year-on-year and by 4.3% in real terms also in the January-May 2018 period.

The Serbian president Aleksandar Vucic said yesterday that net salaries in the Balkan country will increase to around 470 euro by the end of the year, "a bit less than 500 euro, but higher than in some countries in the region". "We are approaching" the salary levels "of Montenegro and we surpassed Bulgaria, Albania, Macedonia", Vucic said, quoted by the news agency Beta. (ANSA).
