Unemployment: strong decrease in Cyprus, Greece and Croatia

Number of unemployed constantly following in Croatia

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, 05 APR - Cyprus (from 12.6% to 9.6%), Greece (from 23.4% to 20.8% between December 2016 and December 2017) and Croatia (from 12.0% to 9.6%) are the European Union countries that registered the largest decreases in unemployment year on year in February 2018, the EU statistical office Eurostat said.

However, Greece still registers the highest unemployment rate in the EU, with 20.8%, followed by Spain (16.1%), Italy (10.9%), and Cyprus and Croatia (9.6%).

Croatia has registered a constant drop in the unemployment rate in the previous months, from 12% in February 2017, to 10.3% in November 2017, 10% in December. The rate was 9.8% in January 2018, 9.6% in February. (ANSA).
