EU:Hahn,negotiations for Albania's and Macedonia's accession
Welt, call on member states by summer, they deserve membership

(ANSA) - BERLIN - The EU Commission wants the negotiations
for Albania's and Macedonia's EU membership to get started.
Commissioner Johannes Hahn told die Welt. "The EU Commission will soon call on Member States, most likely by the summer, to begin entry negotiations with Albania and Macedonia".
"The two countries undertook crucial reforms and are now eligible to take this step" he said. "The citizens of these two countries deserve a European prospect, but in the end it is up to the Member States to decide".
With regard to the uncertainties in Berlin and Paris about Albania, Hahn said: "Albanians feel naturally the effect of a certain reputation, but Albania has done very well against organized crime". (ANSA).
