(ANSA) - BRUXELLES - "The key to further success" in the normalisation of the relations between Serbia and Kosovo "lies in Belgrade and Pristina," "a final agreement is difficult but possible, quoting Mandela: It's always impossible until it's done", EU High Representative Federica Mogherini said at a press conference after the Fourth Stabilisation and Association Council between the EU and Serbia in Brussels.

"I would like to underline my appreciation for Serbia's commitment to our work on this new phase of the facilitated dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina", Mogherini explained.

The EU High Representative also stressed that today "EU cooperation with Serbia is stronger than ever before".

However, Mogherini couldn't say when more tangible results in the dialogue are expected to be seen. "Now the work is on the implementation of the already agreed texts on civil protection, justice and police", she said. Some of the outcomes, like the opening of Mitrovica Bridge, "are all things that might sound small but required hours, and days and nights of talks". The dialogue is crucial also for the EU perspective of the two countries and the EU is determined to "come to positive results sooner than later", before the end of the mandate in 2019, Mogherini pointed out".
