(ANSA) - INGOLSTADT (GERMANY) - The relations between Friuli Venezia Giulia and Bavaria are ''very good and very friendly'' and there are opportunities for further strengthening: this positive result was underlined at the meeting between the President of Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, Debora Serracchiani, and the President of Bavaria, Horst Seehofer, in the presence of Italian Ambassador to Germany Pietro Benassi, which took place in Ingolstadt (Germany) today. Serracchiani also highlighted the memorandum of cooperation between the two regions, the results that have been achieved but ''much still remains to be done'', she said. ''Italy and Germany,'' she added, ''both benefited from the ability of their territories to develop innovation and advanced logistics solutions, by using a cluster approach''. ''The agreement with Bavaria - she continued - is more and more tangible, so that we have already set up a series of bilateral meetings dedicated to cooperation in the fields of agricultural policies and economic clusters for the coming weeks''.

Serracchiani confirmed the progress made in the relations between the German Land and Friuli Venezia Giulia: progress has been made in terms of procedures on the customs corridor between the Port of Trieste and Bavaria, but ''we have to commit ourselves to fully implementing what is planned''. In October and November, some meetings are going to take place, with regard to collaboration, primarily in terms of education, through bilateral exchanges focused on methods, teaching content and joint teaching programs. Then the focus will be on economic clusters and agricultural policies, especially viticulture and wine tourism. Serracchiani reported the interest of the Bavarian authorities in the latest investments made by the Italian government for the Port of Trieste: 83mn euros to build for Trieste harbour - within ten years - three 750-metre railroads, with the concrete possibility to develop in a more significant way a synergy between rail and maritime freight transport.
