Bosnia: Strasbourg, more attention to minors trafficking

(ANSA) - STRASBOURG - Bosnia has to reinforce the measures to prevent minors from becoming victims of human trafficking. It is what Greta, the Council of Europe organ against trafficking, asks the Bosnia authorities in its second report on the country.

"Despite the progress achieved (in particular through legislation) a number of issues continue to give rise to concern" says Greta. The Council of Europe organ points in particular to the fact that "the majority of identified victims of human trafficking in Bosnia have been children". Greta therefore urges the authorities to strengthen the role and capacity of social work centers to play a proactive role in alerting other relevant authorities to possible cases of human trafficking and exploitation.
