(ANSA) - BRUSSELS - A court in Skopje today sentenced to prison nine persons - who can all benefit from the conditional suspension - held responsible for the incidents and violence that took place on April 27 in the Macedonian parliament after the raid in the Houses of hundreds of protesters. One person was sentenced to one year and six months - media reported - the other eight to six months. The nine persons have admitted responsibility for the raid.

Conservative protesters broke into the Houses of Parliament, against the election of a member of the Albanian minority as chairman of the assembly. In the clashes dozens of people were injured, including some MPs. The police have identified and accused some thirty of these protesters, so far. In recent days, the Interior Ministry suspended 16 policemen found guilty of not intervening to prevent the violent protesters from breaking into the parliament. (ANSA).
