(ANSA) - LJUBLJANA - Janez Jansa was been re-elected as leader of the Slovenian Democratic Party (Sds), which he has been driving continuously since 1993. At the eleventh congress, Jansa gathered unanimous consensus among over 600 delegates.

Being a single candidate standing unopposed, he was once again able to take full control of the party. More than 250 guests attended the congress, including Hungarian prime minister Viktor Orban, whose attitude toward migrants, that is in favour of border closure, is shared and supported by SDS. In this respect, Jansa argued that the ''homogeneity of the Slovenes is an advantage'' and it is ''essential to maintain this status, though being at the same time tied to the values of the European Union and NATO''.
