Enel buys stakes in Romanian energy sector for 400 mln

Italian group increased its stake in Edm and Eem to 78%

(ANSA) - TRIESTE - Italian group Enel announced that its subsidiary Enel Investment Holding B.V. has today acquired stakes of 13.6% in the local companies E-Distributie Muntenia and Enel Energie Muntenia from Sape, the company that manages the Romanian state's portfolio in the energy sector, for a total amount of Eur 401 million. The amount was established following an international dispute. Following this deal Enel Investment Holding B.V. increased its stake in Edm and Eem to about 78%. (ANSA).
