Germany: Statistical Office confirmed GDP up 1.9% in 2016

Weidmann, Bundesbank estimated 1.8% growth in 2017

(ANSA) - BERLIN - Germany's GDP grew by 1.9% in 2016, the Federal Statistical Office confirmed. From October to December, compared to the previous quarter, Europe's 'locomotive' recorded an increase by 0.4%. The Bundesbank economists expect a 1.8% growth this year, then a slight decrease in the following years, according to the president of the German central bank, Jens Weidmann, who spoke at the presentation of the Bundesbank's annual accounts in Frankfurt.(ANSA).
