(ANSA) - BRUSSELS - The European Commission approved the ''big
project'' that provides coverage of restructuring costs of a
section of DN1C national road, between the cities of Dej and
Baia Mare, northwest Romania.
The project can count on a budget of 57 million euro from the
European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
''Users of this road will now benefit from more secure and
comfortable travel conditions. In the long term, the project
will bring benefits to the local economy. Everyone knows that
better connectivity is crucial for any region'', because it
''improves the quality of public services and favours
employment'', said European Commissioner for Regional Policy
Corina Cretu.
