EUR 1 bln deal between Warsaw and defence contractor

Largest contract in the history of polish military industry

(ANSA) - WARSAW, DEC, 15 - A eight-year contract for EUR 1 billion. It's the new agreement signed by Poland with the defence contractor Huta Stalowa Wola (Hsw), according to Radio Poland. The group will provide to Polish Army four firing modules. Every module will comprise nearly 40 military vehicles, including 24 self-propelled howitzers.

Polish government said that the country will keep using "made-in-Poland" equipment for its Army. The deal was the largest in the history of Poland's defence industry, said Arkadiusz Siwko, Ceo of the Polish Armaments Group (Pgz), which includes Hsw.

The governing party Law and Justice (PiS) is planning to boost Polish economy trough armament industry, according to Radio Poland. (ANSA).
