Bulgaria, Reformist Bloc won't try to form new government

The refusal leads to early elections

09 December, 12:34
(ANSA) - TRIESTE - Right-wing coalition Reformist Bloc will hand back the exploratory mandate to the Bulgarian President next week, without trying to form a new government. If the situation will not change, the decision leads to early election in Bulgaria, with two parties (GERB and Bulgarian Socialist Party) before RC having refused to make an effort to form a new cabinet, after Prime Minister Boyko Borisov resigned.

Focus News Agency quotes Nayden Zelenogorski, the co-leader of RB: "Apparently there is no reformist majority in Parliament and we are going to elections". Yesterday, RB received support from Patriotic Front coalition, but not from Borisov's GERB party, whose votes are crucial to create a majority in parliament.

If the situation remained unchanged, RB will return to the President Rossen Plevneliev the mandate that should be offered to it on December 12th. Bulgaria will have an interim cabinet, sliding toward early elections in the spring. (ANSA).
