Schengen controls for another 3 mths, Brussels

(ANSA) - BRUSSELS - Brussels "recommends" keeping controls already being made at the internal Schengen borders of Austria, Germany, Sweden, Norway and Denmark for another three months, Migration and Home Affairs Commissioner Dimitris Avramopoulos said Tuesday. "We have a clear priority: safeguarding Schengen and returning to its normal working," he said. "In the past months we have made important steps to face the lack of external borders," the basic condition for the full restoration of the Schengen area, "but we're not there yet". (ANSA).
