Romania, Lidl to open 100 new stores

German retailer operative since 2011 with 200+ discount shops

(ANSA) - TRIESTE - German retailer Lidl plans to open 100 new discount stores in Romania over the next five years, Bucharest-based media reported. The company has been active in Romania since 2011 and has since opened more than 200 stores.

The company reportedly aims to open at least 10-15 new shops per year in Romania until 2021. In terms of turnover, Lidl is the third retailer in Romania, following Kaufland and Carrefour.
