Kosovo: works on Kosovska Mitrovica bridge start
It divides Albanian and Serbian areas

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, AUG, 14 - Today started works to restore the passage on Kosovska Mitrovica bridge, as reported by European Union boureau in Kosovo. The bridge for many years divided Albanian and Serbia areas, to recontruct it Eu allocated more then 1,2 millions euro. Many journalists run for the event, and police presence is strenghtened.
The bridge on Ibar river at Kosovska Mitrovica is closed to circulation since 2011, also because many violent events occurred, more then one thousands, between Serbian and Albanian citizens. The bridge became a symbol of Kosovo separation, from 80.000 Albanians who live in Southern part of the city and 30.000 Serbian of Northern side. (ANSA).
