(ANSA) - TRIESTE - The repeated trial against the former
prime minister of Croatia, Ivo Sanader and his party, Hdz, will
start on June 6th, Hina agency reported.
The Costitutional court has annulled the first grade verdict
against Sanader for nine years of reclusion last autumn on the
grounds that there had been violations of the defendants'
rights.
According to the prosecutor, Sanader and his party illegaly
took 70 million kunas (more than 9 million euros) from state
institutions through the marketing agency Fimi Media. Defined by
the Croatian media as the 'trial of the century', it is
Croatia's biggest corruption case. (ANSA).
