Switzerland lifts restraints for Romanian,Bulgarian workers
Starting from June 1st
14 April, 17:15(ANSA) - BERNA - Switzerland will remove all labour market restrictions for the workers of Bulgarian and Romanian nationality as of June 1st. The Federal council will be able to reintroduce the restrictive measures if the influx of immigrants from the two countries exceeds by more than 10% the average of the last three years.
In that case, the restrictions will be extended until May 31st, 2019. At the end of the last year, the rate of Romanians and Bulgarians living in Switzerland was at 0.9% with a total of 18,364 permanent residents - a number below the imposed ceiling.
