(ANSA) - BUCAREST, 06 APR - The Russian oil company Lukoil rose its stake in offshore gas exploration in Romania's Trident concession by 81% in 2015, reaching over 300 million euros (343.4 mln US dollars), Romania Insider reported.

The oil giant discovered a natural gas deposit in the Black Sea's Romanian territorial waters last year, with estimated resources equaling three year's of Romania's gas consumption. Meanwhile, Lukoil has given up on the Rhapsody concession, also in the Black Sea, after the exploration works were concluded without promising results, causing 410 dollars loss for the company.
