Wiesenthal Center, absurd comparing Srebrenica and Holocaust

According to Zuroff, no proper genocide in the enclave

(ANSA) - BELGRADE - It's absurd comparing the Holocaust, the genocide in Rwanda and the crimes committed in Srebrenica, the director of the Jerusalem office of the Wiesenthal Center, Efraim Zuroff, said in an interview with the Belgrade daily 'Politika'.

According to Zuroff, neither the Rwandan case could be an appropriate comparison with the Holocaust and, even if the crimes committed there are more similar to the Shoah than the events in Srebrenica, there are still not the same.

"Neither Rwanda nor Srebrenica represent a mass murder on industrial scale like the Holocaust", he added, expressing at the same time doubts about the fact the in Srebrenica a genocide in the true sense of the term was committed. "I think that the decision to define as genocide the events in Srebrenica was taken for political reasons", he concluded. (ANSA).
