Kosovo, Mogherini in Pristina and Belgrade

Talks on dialogue and on implementation of agreements

26 March, 17:13

(ANSA) - PRISTINA / BELGRADE - The prospects of dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, the implementation of the agreements reached so far between the parties, the regional stability in the Balkans and the European future of Kosovo and Serbia are the central issues of a mission that the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs Federica Mogherini has scheduled for today and tomorrow in Pristina and Belgrade. In the capital of Kosovo, where she arrived this morning, Mogherini has already met with Prime Minister Isa Mustafa, and this afternoon she's going to meet with President Atifete Jahjaga and with Foreign Minister Hashim Thaci. Talks with opposition leaders are on the agenda. In an interview with the Kosovar newspaper Koha Ditore, the EU High Representative stressed the importance of achieving a ''full normalization of relations'' between Pristina and Belgrade, and that is why, she explained, it's very important to continue the dialogue with the mediation of the EU. ''We know that the normalization of relations can not happen overnight, it takes time to develop these relations and the process is not easy,'' Mogherini, underlining she's willing to help and support the continuation of the dialogue. Tomorrow the EU High Representative will visit Belgrade, where she will meet with Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic, Premier Aleksandar Vucic and Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic. (ANSA).
