(ANSA) - TRIESTE - "Integrating Europe's bordering regions through media and innovative forms of cross-border communication is one of the best instruments for contrasting the misinformation which often fuels fear and intollerance", said the EU parliamentary, Isabella De Monte, who met the delegation of the Journalist's Association (Ordine dei giornalisti) of the Friuli Venezia Giulia region and the Italian representatives of the project "News without borders" in Brussels. "News without borders" moves in this direction, it is an excellent project and it has full support of the European Parliament", De Monte added.

The initiative "News without borders" (Notizie senza confini) aims to realize a platform for cross-border information involving major press outlets in the so-called Euroregion, comprising Friuli Venezia Giulia, Veneto, Carinthia, Slovenia and Croatian Istria. Journalist exchanges similar to Erasmus are also foreseen by the programme as well as the sharing of technical instruments and existing information portals. (ANSA).
