(ANSA) - PEC - Italy's military contingent deployed in Kosovo has made some donations in favour of the Fire Department of some of the municipalities in the western sector of Kosovo, an area which sees the presence of the Multinational Battle Group West, a multinational specialized unit based on the 5th Alpine Regiment, led by Colonel Carlo Cavalli. The donations covered technical equipment including flame-retardant uniforms, tools for interventions in the event of car accident and medical rescue equipment for patients suffering from multiple trauma, and was made in collaboration with the Civil Protection of Lower Romagna (northern Italy). The strengthening of the institutions which are committed to guaranteeing security to Kosovar citizens is a priority for the CIMIC (Italian Civil-Military Cooperation). In this context, supporting Kosovar Firefighters aims to help the country reach European standards in public service assistance to the people, in terms of civil protection. CIMIC specialists, led by Lieutenant Colonel Corrado Valle, and the head of Civil Protection of Lower Romagna, Roberto Faccani, have organized a series of meetings with the heads of the local fire brigades, in order to implement the project.
