(ANSA) - VIENNA - The Slovenian economy is likely to grow by 1.8% in 2015, according to the Unicredit forecast for Central and Eastern Europe, presented at the Euromoney Forum in Vienna.

"The situation has improved notaboly compared to the previous years", said the Group's regional manager, Gianni Franco Papa.

Slovenia has completed a process of restructuring its banking sector with the creation of a 'bad bank' for critical assets.

However, the unsolved credit lines will remain well above the 18.9% regional average in 2015. The Unicredit Group estimates that, following a drop of lending activities in 2014 (-9.3%), the number of issued loans will grow by 2% this year.

The Group's forecast on Slovenia's GDP growth has a more positive outlook than the one issued by the International Monetary Fund (+1,4%) and the EBRD (+1,6%). (ANSA)
