(ANSA) - BELGRADE - The prime ministers of China and Serbia, Li Keqiang and Aleksandar Vucic, have inaugurated a new bridge on Danube river in Belgrade. The 1.507 metres long Mihajlo Pupin bridge, named after the well-known Serbian scientist, has been realized with Chinese capital.

With six traffic lanes, two pedestrian sidewalks and two bycicle lanes, the new bridge connecting two Belgrade susurbs (Zemun and Borca) aims at mitigating traffic congestions by offering heavy vehicles directed to Romania and Bulgaria an alternative to passing through the city centre. (ANSA).
