Hungary, construction sector still growing in July

Index +17.5% over the previous year, but orders are declining

(ANSA) - TRIESTE - The construction sector in Hungary has increased by 17.5% in July 2014 compared with the same month last year, thus recording positive signs both in construction (+9.6%) and in the civil infrastructure (24.3%), driven by railway and road reconstruction and by public works in progress.

This news was reported in a press release issued by the Hungarian Central Statistical Office (Ksh), which recalled at the same time that the output in this sector, with seasonal adjustment, was 4% higher compared with June. In the first seven months of this year, the index of production in the construction sector in Hungary was higher by 21.8% compared to the same period in 2013. Negative figures, on the contrary, in terms of new orders, which in July 2014 recorded a decrease by 17.8% compared with July 2013. (ANSA).
