Malaysian Airlines passenger plane shot down over Ukraine
All 288 passengers and 15 crew presumed dead

(ANSA) - Moscow, July 17 - A Malaysia Airlines passenger
plane was shot down Thursday from an altitude of 10,000 meters
and crashed in a combat zone in Ukraine near the Russian border,
Russian news agency Interfax reported citing Russian air force
sources.
The Boeing 777 carrying 280 passengers and 15 crew members lost altitude some 50 kms before entering Russian airspace and crashed 40 kms east of the Ukrainian city of Donetsk, where combat is taking place with Russian troops, Ukrainian media reported.
Everyone on board the plane is presumed dead. (ANSA).
