(ANSA) - TRIESTE - Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) announced today the decision to re-launch the procurement procedures for goods and services related to the construction of the pipeline, ''after reviewing the strategy and the agenda''.

A press release underlines that the new procedures will focus in particular on two main areas: Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC), which is related to building services for onshore and offshore sections, gas compression stations and terminals; ''supply contracts'', which concerns the supply of pipes, valves and Scada systems.

The official website dedicated to the project has reported that Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) ''will carry natural gas from the giant Shah Deniz II in Azerbaijan, via Greece and Albania, from the Adriatic Sea to southern Italy and to Western Europe''. The infrastructure will be approximately 870 km long. If the roadmap is respected, the inflow of gas to Europe via pipeline Tap will start by 2019, the press release has reported. The shareholders of TAP project are BP (20%), SOCAR (20%), Statoil (20%), Fluxys (16%) , Total ( 10%), E.ON (9%) and Axpo (5%). (ANSA).
