Employment growth, Hungary high in the rankings

Italy underperforms according to OECD report

(ANSA) - TRIESTE - The employment rate in OECD countries, that is the percentage of people in their working age who are employed, has increased slightly (+0.1%) in the last quarter of 2013, reaching 65.3%.

In the eurozone, this rate has reached 63.6% (+0.1%), after remaining stable over the last three quarters. This news was reported by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, while pointing out that the level of employment in the OECD area is still 1,2% less than pre-crisis levels. Compared to the last quarter of 2012, a significant growth in employment rate was recorded in late 2013 in Hungary (+1.9% to 59.4% of employees), the OECD country which comes second after Ireland (+2.1% to 61.3%). Among the lowest ranking countries, Italy (-0.9%, 55.5%), the Netherlands (-0.9%,74%), Greece (-1.3%, the employment rate 49,1%) and Slovenia (-0.9%, 63.2%). (ANSA).
