(ANSA) - LJUBLJANA - The state recapitalisation of the country's three largest banks, amounting to 3 billion euros, will cause a steep rise in Slovenia's deficit, making it grow to about 15% of GDP (in 2013). This is what emerges from the estimates made the Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia (SURS). The deficit which has been accumulated during the first three quarters was 1.4 billion euros, that is 5.5% of GDP. The 3 billion granted by the State in order to restructure the capital of Nlb , NKBM and Abanka amounted to about 10% of GDP. The last massive injection of capital into banks was not the only one in 2013. In the first two quarters of the year, recapitalisations were carried out, using more than 400 million euros. The state deficit, according to SURS data, will increase by about 100 million euros also because of wages in the public sector. (ANSA) .
