(ANSA) - ANCONA - The first European consultation meeting during
the preparatory phase of the Action-Plan for the Adriatic Ionian
macro-regional strategy, will be held on October 14 in Ancona,
where an intergovernmental summit between Italy and Serbia is
scheduled for the following day. This meeting will be attended
by stakeholders who are concerned with the second 'pillar' of
the Plan, "Connecting the Adriatic Ionian Region". "The European
Council - said the President of the Marche Region, Gian Mario
Spacca - gave the Commission a mandate to draw up the Plan of
Action of the Adriatic-Ionian macro-regional strategy that will
be definitively approved during the Italian Presidency of the EU
in 2014. The main objective of this strategy is pursued through
the development of 4 thematic 'pillars' (blue economy,
connecting the region, environment, regional attractiveness -
tourism) and 2 cross-over 'pillars' (innovation and SMEs,
training). This event is a good opportunity to compare different
solutions and collect various suggestions. Given this scenario,
the Marche Region will actively contribute, taking into account
all the problems and challenges that our region will face within
the Action Plan". (ANSA).
