Cinema, 'Fuocoammare' and tragedy of Lampedusa in Vilnius
Migrants' drama landed in Lithuania with G.Rosi documentary

(ANSA) - ROME - The emergency landings in Lampedusa and the
crisis of migrants arrive in Lithuania. The documentary
"Fuocoammare" by Gianfranco Rosi will represent Italy for the
Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film at the ''Nepatogus
kinas'' Festival in Vilnius.
A series of projections which will begin Oct. 13 in the capital (and then in Kaunas and Klaipeda) will tell what since 1990 has become the place of massive landing refugees from Africa, with over 20 thousand people drowned during the crossing to achieve what for many is the gateway to Europe.
The documentary, awarded in 2016 with the Golden Bear at Berlin Film Festival, will be screened in collaboration with the Italian Institute of Culture in Vilnius. (ANSA).
