(ANSA) - ROME - A 'window' on filmographies made in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe. There are many works at this year's Venice film festival (from 2 to 12 Sept.) signed by directors or made by producers from Poland, Hungary Czech Republic, Croatia, Montenegro, and Ukraine.

In the foreground, you can find the Maidan protests, in the documentary 'Winter on Fire' (out of competition) by Evgeny Afineevsky. A chronicle of those 93 days that between 2013 and 2014 have completely changed the country. Moreover, this film is dedicated ''to the memory of the heroes, to the whole Ukrainian nation and the real events happened in Maidan, a symbol of the Revolution of Dignity in the years 2013-2014'', the author says.

Director and actor Jerzy Skolimowski will represent Poland's cinema, a man who was able to modernize cinema in Eastern Europe by using long tracking shots and depth of field. He will take part in the official competition with ''11 minut'' (11 Minutes), while Kuba Czekaj has signed the film 'Baby Bump' (Biennale College - Cinema). Among the productions and co-productions from Eastern Europe are 'Daisies' (Czech Republic, in competition) by Zavier Giannoli; ''The Childhood of a Leader'' by Brady Corbet (Hungary, in 'Orizzonti' section). Finally, two short Croatian films arrive in the Lido from the Adriatic coast: ''Belladonna'' by Dubravka Turic and ''Interruption'' by Yorgos Zois (Greece-Croatia) and ''Dorista'' by Ivan Salatic (Montenegro), all competing in the ''Orizzonti'' section.
