Exports rose by 30% in Sicily 2009-2014

03 December, 16:53The figure was given by Giovanni Catalano of Confindustria Sicilia in presenting the first results of the Enterprise Europe project, a large support network for SMEs and start-ups with international ambitions. Imports grew in those years as well, from 11.2 billion to 17.3 billion. Setting aside hydrocarbon exports, Sicily increased the presence of its products abroad also in the agriculture, forestry and fishing sector (from 307 million in 2009 to 493 million in 2014); food products (from 345 to 472 million) sector; and that of electronic devices (from 242 million to 489 million). Thanks to the Enterprise Europe network, some 400 B2B meetings were organized, in which over 300 Sicilian enterprises and 350 foreign ones took part. (ANSA).
