Sicilian wines showcased at Expo

Meeting at Bio-Med Cluster with tasting

23 October, 13:58
(ANSA) - MILAN, OCTOBER 23 - A tasting of wines produced in Italian areas characterized by what is defined as ''heroic viticulture'', because of the extreme conditions of the terrain, will be held on Friday afternoon at 7 pm at the Bio-Mediterranean pavilion of Milan Expo 2015. The tasting, promoted by the Sicilian agriculture councilor, is organized in cooperation with the Center for Research, Study, Safeguarding, Coordination, and Improvement of Mountain Viticulture (Cervim), an international agency that has been promoting for the past 25 years wine-making in structurally difficult areas, also defined as ''heroic''.

''After participating in several congresses over the past few months, during which the importance of heroic viticulture was widely outlined and presented both for the environment and economy - said the president of Cervim, Roberto Gaudio - the primary objective for this last appointment before the end of Expo was to get the great public acquainted with wines that come from the precious work of winemakers who protect and exploit these unique territories with passion and dedication''.
