(ANSA) - PALERMO, OCTOBER 19 - Great appreciation has been expressed by the deputy president of the Sicilian region, Mariella Lo Bello, during a visit to the Bio-Mediterranean Cluster of the Milan Expo 2015.

''The Sicilian government has welcomed the challenge to make several Mediterranean countries cohabit around the great theme of nutrition'', she said. ''Such courage was awarded and the Bio-Mediterranean Cluster truly is a great square where populations are meeting. The cluster has represented a great occasion for our companies and at the same time has offered our territory as a scenario for companies who want to invest in Sicily''.

On the same occasion, a project was launched from the BioMed Cluster on Wednesday, to coincide with the National Day of Greece, that will involve Sicily and Greece in a campaign of solidarity to raise funds for refugees, as jointly announced by Lo Bello and the director of the Greek pavilion, Teti Perissoki.

They stressed the importance for European countries to unite and cooperate to confront the grave crisis that continues to affect the Mediterranean.
