(ANSA) - ANCONA - The ''cultural arm'' of the Adriatic Ionian
macro-region is the Adriatic Mediterranean Festival, 8th
edition, which will take place from August 30 to September 6 at
Ancona, with a day in Senigallia on September 4. Admed 2014 is
dedicated to ''the issue of borders - explains the festival's
director Giovanni Seneca -: not only territorial, economic and
social borders, but also between genders and between
generations''. There will be a symbolic link between Bosnia and
Herzegovina, who assumed the presidency of the Adriatic and
Ionian Macroregion in June, and where the opening day was held,
in Sarajevo on June 17, and Senigallia, because these two cities
were both hit by floods. ''The event is designed as a show
located all around the city. Among the main events, there are
meetings with philosophers Gianni Vattimo and Remo Bodei, Raiz
and Radicanto, young band from Sarajevo Divanhana, Enzo
Avitabile and the Kocani Orkestar in concert, a live streaming
DJ set between Ancona and eight countries in the AIMR, and a
performance by Moni Ovadia and Orchestrina Adriatica 'Trasponde'
in Senigallia. There will be then a show on the status of women
in society, ''Storie di donne morte ammazzate-Allegra barbarie
italiana'' by Betta Cianchini, a selection of documentaries and
movies from the Balkan region, an exhibition at the tactile
Museum Homer. Admed's TV spot was created thanks to a 'call for
ideas' among students attending the Macerata Academy of Fine
Arts. According to Fabio Pigliapoco, secretary general of the
Adriatic Ionian Initiative, this Adriatic-Mediterranean Festival
''perfectly reflects the spirit of the Adriatic-Ionian
macro-region''. Culture councillor Pietro Marcolini (Marche
Region) underlined that ''we need to focus on culture as one of
our cornerstones in order to develop the Aimr'', by extending
the festival to other Italian regions which are part of this
macroregion. (ANSA).
