Energy: Romania among less dependent countries
EU needed to import 53.6% of the energy it consumed in 2016
21 April, 19:07Eurostat noted that in 2016 the European Union needed to import 53.6% of the energy it consumed. The main imported energy were petroleum products, followed by gas and solid fuels.
In 2016, the EU country least dependent on imported energy was Estonia, with a dependency rate of 6.8%, followed by Denmark (13.9%), Romania, Poland (22.3%). Good results also for the Czech Republic (32.8%). Bulgaria, Croatia and Slovenia also had a dependency rate below the EU average in 2016. (ANSA).
